Getting Closer to a Paint Scheme I like

Prev | Next

If you remember the last post I made about painting, you may remember that I’m thinking about polishing.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen.

For now, I’ve settled in on a nice paint scheme. I’m still using the RV-7 and RV-9 version of the Model Airplane Color Design program.

I’m thinking Metallic Burgandy, with a silver stripe and black.

What do you think?

Here are some example paint chips, but neither are exactly what I’m looking for.

This could be a little darker.

I’m envious you’re so close you’re talking about paint. The two colours are very nice. If I ever build mine, I’d love something like metallic blue top with silver bottom and some ribbons and subtle checkers mixed in like Chris Sands’ paint job. Maybe play with something like that, but change

To fInishing my comment after a hasty “post comment”, I was going to suggest swapping the blue for the burgundy and having a silver ribbon near the blend line. Having said that, I’d expect Chris’ to be a pricey job.
Just a thought. I’m sure anything would look great.

Thumbs up here. The colors are nicely complementary. And, of course, black tips always look badass.

If you Google zk-mis, you should turn up a 7a in those colours.
