Well, except for the fiberglass tips. And the elevator horn cutouts. But you get the idea.
I spent a half an hour in the garage early tonight finishing the last few things up. One of which was setting the last 4 rivets on the horizontal.
I had forgotten about the 4 rivets (4 on the left and right edges of the picture).
Also, I drilled out 12 skin rivets that were sitting a little proud, and reset them. Here’s the HS with the fiberglass tips just taped into place (to see what it looks like).
Finished HS with the tips taped into place. Looks good.
Short night, but the dogs flew in the newly designated “airplane parts storage” room.
Believe it or not, this is the best picture I could get out of about 10 tries. Jack and Ginger doing what they do best...looking cute.

The four rivets that I had forgotten are actually the four on the very edges of the picture. The picture shows them after I remembered and set them.
But, you are correct. There are four holes that are matchdrilled during final assembly. Those will go in the spaces between the sets of rivets on either side of center.
1) Fix rivets in right elevator
2) Trim right elevator weight
3) Clean up HS cuts
4) Look for underdriven rivets
5) REBUILD RUDDER :-(
6) Finish riveting right rear spar
7) Replace rivet on inboard rear spar edge
8) Start on left wing
9) FB tips on emp 10) Wingtips
The four rivets you said you forgot, those are supposed to be left empty, the holes will be drilled to 3/16″ to attach the empennage to the fuselage

yeap, i got em now, I was looking at the blueprints for 710/714 drilling pattern when I was working with the rear spar, oops!
